A downloadable token pack

I'm offering two different asset packs of pixel-art tokens representing the mechs in the Lancer RPG by Massif Press. The first pack contains tokens for the 35 frames available to players that have been published in the Core Book and the Long Rim, as well as alternate versions of the Sherman and Death's Head, the upcoming SSC Emperor, IPS-N Kidd, HA Enkidu, HORUS Calendula, SSC ORCHIS, and 5 variants of the GMS Everest and Sagarmatha, for a total of 47 sprites. As more mechs are added to the game in future supplements, this pack will be updated to include them, and will remain free.

The second asset pack will eventually contain tokens for Lancer's 30 core NPCs, the 3 special classes, and the 4 Wallflower NPCs; it currently contains 27, (Ace, Aegis, Archer, Assassin, Assault, Barricade, Bastion, Berserker, Breacher, Bombard, Cataphract, Demolisher, Engineer, Goliath, Hive, Hornet, Mirage, Operator, Priest, Rainmaker, Ronin, Scout, Sentinel, Sniper, Specter, Spite, and Witch) and the rest will be added as I complete them. It will also include some terrain features and deployables, like the Engineer's turret and the tokens for size 1 and 2 destroyed mechs. This pack is for sale at its full final price now, before it is complete, so that if you decide to support me as I work on this project, you are able to do so. In exchange, you'll have access to the pack in increments instead of having to wait until it's complete.

The tokens are made at a 44x44 resolution, multiplied as appropriate for the larger tiles, and then scaled up to prevent blurring when stretched onto common tabletop grids. Size 2 and 3 tokens include empty space to convey correct comparative proportions while still occupying the correct amount of space on said tabletop grids. The tokens lack borders, to mesh seamlessly with whatever map assets or grid types are being used. (It is worth noting, however, that size 2 tokens will snap improperly to hex grids on roll20- hold alt while dragging to place them without them snapping to the grid.)

You are welcome to make any alterations or edits to these tokens with any image editing software you choose. If you'd like me to customize a token or tokens, I take commissions, with prices dependent on the complexity of the edit. If you're interested, send me an email at wecontact8@gmail.com.

This project was also how I learned to do spritework, and the Lancer community (especially Ffzdf, Cyan, and Eld) has been absolutely fantastic, encouraging me and giving excellent feedback as I kept at it and improved. Thank you all so much!

The best sprites for lancer ever, what a piece of work

(+1)

Can i make and share (for free) perler-bead-guide versions of these with attribution?

Yes absolutely!

Can I use these for a TTRPG being streamed on Twitch?

Go right ahead!

This has been a really valuable resource for running and playing lancer on virtual tabletops. I really like your sprite work and recommend this collection to any group i play with

Heyho.

Are you available for commissions or do you have a site on which I can see your rates/pricing models?

Any way to contact you via any of the current messangers? Telegram or Discord?

Don't eat the devs!

I originally downloaded this two years ago and I'm delighted to see the cool NPC which have been added since then! Just great stuff.

Can we use these in other projects? Game development related? Like can I use these in my PC game?

+1, I'm jamming on a little lancer tactics game and I'd love to be able to use these for the jam game if you're ok with it. Amazing work 🤩

PM me the details!

Recently bought the NPC pack and I'm absolutely in love with it, just a big fan of the pixel art style. Really appreciate how different the npc frames are, even the ones that cover pretty similar roles in combat. Best example is the recent Specter and Assassin designs you added in. Very much looking forward to every single future update.

Thank you so much!! Hearing stuff like this really makes my day. Here’s hoping I can make lightning strike twice when I try to design the Sentinel around the Breacher and the Tortuga!

What happened to the wreck  npc tokens? I just bought this FOR THOSE and they aren't in the npc pack

Oh, I must have accidentally left them out when I re-uploaded the file with the Scout included! My apologies. I’ll fix that as soon as I get home from work, so check back in about 6 hours. If you need them sooner than that, let me know and I’ll see if I can find a way to get those specific sprites emailed to you.

The wreck sprites have been re-added! I’m super glad you brought this to my attention!

All good :D

Great work! Really inspired me for my new Lancer campaign. Any chance we could get some infantry squad or tanks?

(+1)

Infantry is definitely on the docket! I hadn’t made explicit plans for tank NPCs, but I can probably squeeze those in when I’m doing miscellaneous drones and deployables!

(+1)

I'm curious, what sprites are you using for the background? Did you make them or are they from a different pack?

The background is a map ripped from Super Robot Wars D! There's a ton of stuff like that at spriters-resource.com

These are fanatastic and made the guy who is going to GM for us jump with joy because he loves pixel art

Aww that's so great to hear!!

(+2)

These are awesome! I'm starting to look at running this for the first time; it's my understanding that the combat is done on a hex grid typically - it looks like it may be pretty easy to sort of put these on background that shows how much space they take depending on size yeah?

(+1)

Yeah, I know several people who’ve done that!

(+3)

Fantastic work. Looking forward to seeing the NPC mechs!
